Come along to our newest class - Lino Carving & Printing!
Begin your class by looking at a few carved examples, browse some photos for inspiration, and start drawing or tracing your design onto your lino block. The process of carving the lino is therapeutic and many have said it releases their stress and tension from the week.
Once your lino block is all carved out and you're left with your raised design, you'll be guided through the printing process.
You will be given a choice of printing on a blank tea towel or piece of raw fabric which you can later bring to our Sewing For Beginners class to sew into a cushion.
Once you've made your decision on what to print on, you'll choose your colours and begin the printing process. Your teacher will demonstrate how to effectively print your design onto your tea towel or fabric, and after a practice on some scrap material you'll start printing.
Let your creativity take over by opting for an all-over print, repeat pattern or random placement.
