Elevate your sewing skills and create this lovely sleeveless dress. Choose from two lengths, midi or ankle length! This course is designed for those who are ready to take on a new sewing challenge after completing our Sewing For Beginners and Introduction To Garment Making classes, or if you have developed your sewing skills elsewhere, you should have made at least one garment before attending this class.
This is a full-day session, starting at 10am and finishing around 4pm - 5pm, depending on the dress length you choose.
In this class, you will learn:
- Cutting a commercial pattern
- Cutting pattern pieces on the fold
- Cutting fabric with a rotary cutter
- Aligning notches
- Sewing darts
- Grainline alignment
- Centre back, Centre Front and Side Seams
- Sewing shoulder seams
- Sewing a neckline and armholes
- Sewing a double bodice
- Overlocking
- Gathering
- Understitching
- Sewing the neck and arm holes using the burrito method (it's like magic!)
- Sewing the skirt to the bodice
- Hemming
