Dressmaking Course - 2 Days

Learn to sew an A-line Shift Dress with pockets

This class is only available to those who have completed our Introduction To Garment Making - Shorts/Pants class. You are expected to thread the machine independently during the session.

Elevate your sewing skills and create a chic sleeveless shift dress in this Two-Day Dressmaking Course. This course is designed for those who are ready to take on a new sewing challenge after our Sewing For Beginners and Introduction To Garment Making classes.

To enroll in this two-day course, please begin by selecting your preferred date for the first day in the calendar. After that, the system will prompt you to choose your second date. The class runs on Sunday afternoons from 1 pm to 6 pm, and you have the flexibility to pick your own dates for both days.

In this class, you will learn the following skills:

- Cutting on the fold
- Notches
- Grainline alignment
- Sewing hem facings
- Sewing in-seam pockets
- Using a twin needle for topstitching
- Sewing a boat neck
- Understitch
- Sew an A-line shift dress

As always, our experienced instructors will guide you through the entire process, from pattern cutting to sewing techniques.

To ensure a smooth learning experience in this course, we recommend that participants engage in some sewing practice at home between our classes. It's important to feel comfortable with fundamental sewing machine tasks like winding the bobbin and threading the machine independently.

Consistent practice is key, as extended breaks between the Shorts/Pants class and this session without sewing practice may lead to challenges in keeping up with the course content. We want every participant to feel confident and ready to explore the world of dressmaking together.
